Geotextile

Geotextile composites have been introduced and products such as geogrids and meshes have been developed. Geotextiles are able to withstand many things, are durable and is able to soften a fall if someone falls down. Overall, these materials are referred to as geosynthetics and each configuration—-geonets, geosynthetic clay liners, geogrids, geotextile tubes, and others—-can yield benefits in geotechnical and environmental engineering design.

Spunbond

This material was previously used for bedding, furniture, bags and so on. Since the pandemic hit us very hard, it turns out that the application of using this material has spread to become the basic raw material for masks, both surgical masks and the N95 type or equivalent. Scientists measured and test the ability of the polypropylene spunbond to capture 0.3-micron particles and 1-micron particles. The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus measures 0.06-0.14 microns by itself and 5-10 microns when in water droplets. It turns out, the polypropylene spunbond captured 22% of the smaller particles and 42% of the larger particles. However, it was one of the most breathable materials. A single layer spunbond was more breathable than a surgical mask and about as breathable as a 100% cotton T-shirt and bandana.

Mask Fibre Material

Surgical masks are intended to prevent infections in patients and treating personnel by catching bacteria shed in liquid droplets and aerosols from the wearer's mouth and nose. They are not designed to protect the wearer from breathing in airborne bacteria or viruses whose particles are smaller, but could be protective because viruses on droplets are filtered-out, thanks to this specific material well known as MeltBlown. The dark blue (or green) side of the mask (the fluid-repellant layer) is to be worn outward, with the white (absorbent) layer on the inside. With respect to some infections like influenza surgical masks could be as effective (or ineffective) as respirators, such as N95 or FFP masks; though the latter provide better protection in laboratory experiments due to their material, shape and tight seal
